Hi Kathy,
Thanks!!!! Yes, I think it was there going away party....bummer; they all our grown up; all 110 or around there. That is how many babies were born. Going to be so quiet and just blah outside. I always love watching them coming and going and just socializing with each other. Well, just glad that for the most part all is well and they can enjoy the party and head to the roost in Austin. We might try to drive up to Austin; it is about a hour or so; I would love to see the roost in Austin.

Hi Shannon
The houses we have are Lone Star houses and my husband put soffit vents in the houses. Hope that helps!!!! Thanks for your compliment on the pictures. We have a great time taking the pics and seeing what we get...love the Purple Martins.
Thanks everyone for the compliments on the pics. Don't know if we will have any more pics due to "they have left home" ....don't see very many coming around anymore..bummer.
Another season gone....
Hope everyone had a GREAT SEASON!!!

We also have the Lone Star Alamo house, I like the vents. How did you reinforce the house to hang the gourds? I like the fact that yours are close to the house, we are in a subdivision and about to reach the limit on the amount of housing we can offer. I have four gourds, I would like to rehang them, we used to hang them from the Trio house but they were hard on it, so we have hesitated to hang them from the Alamo. The gourd rack that you can purchase for the Alamo seems larger that what we have in mind.
