Hi James,

I sure wish you the best in attracting Martins! Where I live in Pinellas County, Florida, there does not appear to be any large colonies in my immediate area. Probably, the abundance of oak trees has a lot to do with it. I do have the satisfaction with my small colony, of giving the species a representation in my neighborhood, which otherwise would not be the case. And I think it will be more enjoyable for you to get Martins in your vicinity, where the species is down in numbers. I am glad for Texas and Louisiana holding about 25% of the world's Martin population, but there are a whole lot of other States and Canadian Providences that need good landlords too! I am surely heartened to hear that Martins seem to be returning to areas where they have been absent for years. I am certain you are glad about this also.! So hang in there, I believe you will be richly rewarded in time!

Gary W. Iti s hard to understand what is going on in the southern part of fl, but I'm going to keep trying every year that I am here. I love hearing someone is getting there first martin pair and I wish the best for them. I just wish their was a colony near me so I could go and watch them.
