Purple Martin Forum

Any one on the forum had any issues with screech owls? Always thought they were harmless to adult martins due to their small size, but I am seeing them trying to grab tentative martins off porches at dusk.

Tried to order these on-line with zero success

John, I've always believed the age of the nestlings involved is a predicter of moving success..the younger the better. I think chances of survival/acceptance by foster parents decreases after about 12 days old. Just my experience.

For those of you new to the Forum, Mike USED to transport his trapped sparrows across town, and let them go. Progress has been made!

If you have single SY males, they will definitely take eggs and days old nestlings.
