How is the Trendsetter Pole/Winch system?

Howdy everyone, now that it is the off-season I start thinking about next year. I have a been toying with the idea of treating myself and getting a Trendsetter 8. I like the look of the house and have seen plenty of posts were people seem to like these houses, but I have not heard anyone talk about ...

Re: Grandpa MSS12 - Anyway to reduce the screechy sound?

I use the rope that came with the house/pole. Wondering if the cable and winch that is available for this house reduces the noise any? Thanks

Grandpa MSS12 - Anyway to reduce the screechy sound?

Hello, I have the Grandpa MSS12 that goes up and down the pole with a rope. Before this I had a plastic S&K house that was extremely quiet when raising and lowering it. This Trio/Erva Tool house makes a loud/screechy noise when raising it. Does anyone have any remedies they have used to reduce t...

Re: Winch or Rope for Trio 12 room (Grandpa)?

@ A.P. - this season is my first attempt in Magnolia. I have a lot of pine trees around me, but there are people not too far from me that get martins so I am optimistic. I am off Nichol Sawmill road not too far from FM1774. I have hosted martins for 4 years at my parents farm near Columbus Texas. I ...

Winch or Rope for Trio 12 room (Grandpa)?

Hello everyone, I bought a brand new TRIO/NATURE HOUSE MARTIN SAFETY SYSTEM 12 (GRANDPA) house at the end of last season. I am down in South Texas so it is getting close to the time to open it up and hope for martins. I just wanted to ask those of you that have experience with this house whether or ...

Mark, I totally agree with your comments. I think it is a perfect house for someone elderly or someone (like me) who has a small backyard and is in a HOA controlled subdivision and thus can't put up a huge house or gourd rack. I still think in my situation I will spend a $100 more and get the 12 roo...

Anyone looking for a Trio Grandma house (new)?

So for the past couple of months I have been googling like crazy, trying to find a store that still has one of the Trio Grandpa houses with the spaghetti rails (I think these were discontinued in 2012, so I know I am wishful thinking). Anyway within my unsuccessful searching I did come across a site...

I realize this is kind of an old post to be responding on, but I just came across it. I don't guess there is anyway to still get spaghetti rails on the current 12 room grandpa house models? I just think the houses look so much cooler with the spaghetti rails.

Thank you all for your feedback. Even though I know I am extremely late for this season I am going to order a Trio MSS12 (Grandpa) today and get it up as quick as possible. I contemplated the Trendsetter 8 and Heath 12 room octagon as well. The Trendsetter is awesome, but this house will be going up...

Is that a Trendsetter 'heavy-duty 2" square aluminum pole' in the bottom right corner of the first picture on the original post? I have been debating getting a Trendsetter 8 and was just curious if that would be the pole it comes with. Thanks

ck40711, . . . . I know that you are planning for next year but I wish that you could erect a house now. At a minimum it will give your location some martin exposure this year. At a maximum you will get some displaced ASYs or some SYs this year. Mark. ^This is good advice, I just assumed it was too...

My only experience as a landlord is with the S&K plastic houses. Started out as cheap as possible just to get into it, and had a couple of pairs for 2 years. This house I am looking to buy however is for my new residence which I have yet to put a martin house up at yet. I realize I am way to lat...

Thanks DornCounty, that is excellent feedback and exactly what I was looking for. It seems like a great house for the money. I am leaning towards trying one, however my wife wants me to splurge and get a Trendsetter 8 instead. . . so I am doing my research and weighting the pros and cons between eac...

Thanks tonyg, I have been hearing a lot of that. I will be staying away from the Heath. Considering Trio (Grandpa) 12 room or a Trendsetter 8 instead. I would rather spend more and do it right, than have regrets later.

Trio Martin Safety System 12 (Grandpa) <- How is this hou

Seems like a pretty good house for the price. . . aluminum, knock out holes to make rooms larger, pulley system for raising and lowering. I didn't see any reviews in the market place does anyone own this house and if so do you have any feedback? Thanks
