The pool noodle pieces work great. Cut off about a two inch section and stuff in the hole. A lovely lime green looks cool. It's hard to find off season, but surely not near Panama City. I cut off about a 2 inch section and then cut it in half so it fits the SREH perfectly. Tight enough to hold on i...

Krushing.....Don't know what kind of 1.9 tri tel pole is holding up your S&K Barn, but I can absolutely guarantee you that a 40/45 mph wind gust bend my neighbors poles to where they were not useable.. I helped him take them down!!!!!!!! He took down what he called in his own words "piece ...

I don't know if people have modified the poles that have bent, or over loaded them, or not put them in the sleeve in the ground deep enough( my suspicion) ... but mine has held up in amazing winds here in Texas. I don't have the slightest bend in it at all.... It might not be typical, but my persona...

I have had both natural and plastic Gourds. The Plastic gourds I have are: the Super gourds ( PMCA: I think they hold up the best) , I have Naturlaine, I have Bo gourds, and Big Bo gourds. My favorite plastic gourd is the Super Gourd- nice thick and super easy to care for, but my Martins always inha...

Brian I do know for a fact that the original poles that the plastic barnes come on will not stand up to a windy area, as Ive seen first hand my neighbors poles both bending..those fountain rack poles S&k sells seem to look a lot sturdier, but know nothing about them..1.9" would seem strong...

Cheap Plastic House- My Soap Box Rant.

I have been getting caught up on all the posts lately and feel compelled to put this out there regarding that "cheap" plastic Martin house I think many people are referring to in various posts. I know a few years ago it was a no no on here to talk about it by name so Ill refrain from stati...

Maybe time to put up a decoy . They aren't just for attracting martins. Since they are a little " slower" lol than a live Martin, the hawk will often focus on getting the decoy and it gives everyone else a split second lead time that might mean the difference in living or becoming a meal.
