Good season for me here in southwestern MN. Went from 6 pair last year to 13 pair this year. I used to say that, until 2 days later when i have a whole new set of sparrows to trap. It has been a bad year.

I went from two pair last year to 8 pair this year. I live by lake okabena and there alot of people who have martins but dont report. I have been visiting with these peolpe and trying to teach as well.

What kind of bait should i use in the live sparrow trap?
Sparrows are getting too smart for my traps i have been putting in the holes. Even after laying eggs they go to another hole after i set a trap inside. What to do now?

I have been trapping one sparrow pair after another. Martins have not laid yet. Hoping this Minn monsoon season ends soon. hoping to get all sparrows out of the picture before the marins lay eggs.

My four males survived the ice storm. Two have found females and the other two are still searching. Waiting for the subbies to return. Would be nice to hear from other Minnesota martin landlords.

yes i have three gourds hanging under my house. A lot of lookers but no nests.

Hello i have a question. I have a coates watersedge suite with crescent hole entrances and three super gourds hanging underneath. Also i have a 12 hole house bought from walmart which i made entrances and changed to 5 holes. It is a cheap house but the martins have nested in it for the last two year...

Congrats, i had 2 pair that had 5 eggs each and each pair fledged 5 babies. I had alot of subbies also. I have two houses in my front yard and am putting in a house in my backyard. All my martin buddies in Worthington Mn had a great year also. We missed the heat wave as all 10 fledged before it hit....

I am 43 years old and have loved martins since I was 10 years old. My neighbor was very old and got me interested. He died and I took care of his house and put up two of my own.
