.. We did our net check yesterday and found 27 pair and 121 eggs, also found one nest with 5 new babies.. Have a good season..

.. I also have one or two nest that appear damp at times, but most dried out in a few days.. I have changed out nesting material when the mites show up.. That's about the only time I change the nesting material .. Good Luck and have a great season...

..... Our first Martins came on April 29 this year. They were here on April 19 last year. So about 10 days late.. We had 6 Martins here about 10 to 12 days before the other Martins started showing up and when they did, they came in waves.. We are up to about 34 Martins now and about on schedule. So ...

... Dan ... Great News .. Congrats... I put my gourd racks up early, and plug all the entrances. As soon as the first Martin arrives, I start unplugging the gourds a few at a time.

.. I live in the Southeastern corner of Ohio and we are having a late start of the season.. We have eight Martins at the moment but usually we would have around 20 or so by time of the year. So they may be running a little late this year or a lot of them didn't make the full round trip journey this ...

... A very large colony could be a mess in a tight neighborhood. Scaling down would be my guess.. 300 Adult Martins can be a bit noisy during the nesting and fledging times.. Good Luck..
