How do you use the hand warmers? Are they set up in the nest boxes or to keep the food warm?

K.C. - Very impressive gourd set up! I'm new to Martin land lording, so please excuse my newbie question: are martins unlikely to go into the gourds with the traps? Just wondering if you have to fish them out often when you're looking to trap house sparrows.
