Re: Tulsa Roost 2018 located at Tulsa Airport again
I haven't heard since the last post if the Martins are still roosting at the airport. Goodness! This is scary. Ours have left only about a week ago. They were late in raising their babies. They have returned every now and then at both houses but haven't seen them now for that last couple days. Is th...

No occupants this season
Wish some of those roosting martins could have come our way this year. Have two houses up and this is the first time in 13 years no one stayed. Four birds arrived just about right on time and then left within a week. We had several visitors during the season, but only during the day. Our neighborhoo...

What's going on here?
I have a question and I hope you can help. Several years ago after we moved to our new home, we put up a martin house and we were lucky because in no time the house over the years was filled with martins. We put up a second house for the overflow. Now, we are experiencing a dwindling number of marti...

Tulsa Roost
Won't be long now until our backyard is silent. We still have two in the nest yet. My husband put one back yesterday. Male martin quickly posted himself outside the door and has been keeping watch. So far, so good. Both as still in for a few more days anyway. Mom just came by with a bug. Seems to me...

Flocks of starlings
Hi all in Tulsa. Our neighborhood in Verdigris is covered with starlings and black birds. All we can do is chase them to a different house. Do you know if they will deter our returning martins from staying this season???? Advise please. We haven't seen any martins yet, but have a couple weeks to go ...

Delma, I told my husband the other day that I sure wouldn't make a good frontier woman. Working out in the fields would do me in in no time. We'd probably starve to death. It use to be a lot easier several years ago tending to the garden. Think the heat is not my cup of tea. Have to plan our day acc...

Congrats, Stan! Our first round fledged while we were on vacation so don't know the number except there are quite a few of them. One house has two compartments of eggs, the other house has the youngsters that keep bombing us when we're out in the back yard. What fun they're having! If only they knew...

Take it all back about the hawk. He came around today, but the martins sounded the alarm. I thought he was going to land in the front yard. Our six and about six others from a couple houses away bombed him until they all were out of sight. They stayed away for a little while and then returned. There...

Mine have never been this late either. We've had this pesty hawk in the neighborhood. He took a blackbird from our window sill the other day. Several residents have moved in the past couple years and we are the only ones left with houses. Last year we didn't get quite as many as the year before and ...

Greetings Tulsa Martin Landlords! Stan, congrats on your 2010 arrival. We also have been watching the skies this week, but no arrival yet here in Verdigris. It's going to be a challenging season with the enormous number of grackles and black birds that have overtaken the neighborhood through the win...
