Re: One Last Question
Quality housing, keeping sparrows and starlings away, martins nearby, having a nice, open location are all the right main ingredients for attracting them.
Unfortunately it is simply a waiting game and luck after that.

Re: Vionate or Osteo SA for purple martins?
I've never heard of adding anything to crickets, mealworms or eggs. And they MIGHT eat em if placed in the housing, but you might have better luck with a plastic spoon. Remember, they MUST be hungry, as in not eating for a couple days. And yes, there are many discussions and tips about this on here....

Re: This cold / wet snap isn't helping any
There are topics on here y'all can read that gives detailed instructions on training your birds. It DOES take determination and persistence and it's easy to get frustrated. It usually always starts out with flipping crickets at them, then training them to eat eggs, then to eat either from a feeding ...

My mistake. Must be just how it looks in your picture. I agree with how effective the netting is. I catch one or two snakes every year.

Re: Electric Predator Guards
I've thought about going with an electric guard setup and have talked with Malcolm about it briefly. I agree it's the most sure guard out there.
Just my two cents observation of your netting tho.....its WAY too bunched up looking to me. I think a snake could just crawl right over that...

Dreary, chilly, rainy weather outside, typical Louisiana winter, after being in the 70's the last few days. I got crickets in last week and they were separated and b...
