It may stop owls, but opens the chances for hawks to side swipe the martins as they perch on the horizontal part of the square mesh. Good points Phil. I have ordered crickets online in the past and noticed that some are short on the numbers they say in the box. I will continue to research the possibilities of creating a new product of pellet cricket or insect food for martins.
