Too cool!!
Am enlarging your photo as I try to understand predator deterrence, is it advantageous to put your netting close to the ground? Thanks.

Re: snakes! real problem
Why does it have to be "soft netting", "like silk", please? Will the snakes not snag themselves in rigid types? I'm currently trying to deal with our "resident" snakes, too. Am not real keen about finding still-alive reptiles tangled up on a PM pole, would rather use cu...

Re: 5 Eggs No Nest
Interjecting here just to ask- I checked my 6 gourds and found various stages of build...it looks to me like their material of choice appears to be vines that they strip into thin pieces. Too large around to be thick straw stems, halved/ quartered short lengths - would share a pic but it says "...

1st semi-successful spring
Hello, always looking for the expert advice here: First, the good news- my 6 gourd S&K pole looks to be full, by the looks of PM's occupying the porches. But who has time to look inside, with all the other fun ---> Problems encountered: 2 new Water's Edge 8 (dbl) compartment per house on an exte...

Re: Hi Everybody!
I don't see an ST1 in the catalogue - just a UST (assuming similar?) The Waters Edge have crescent openings almost to the floor, and Kathy mentions the HOSPs should not be able to see the trap... if you compare pics of the two, the UST entrance is elevated somewhat from the floor- the DUST is not. I...

Thanks for your quick response! I'm familiar with Kathy Freeze from FB, she surely knows her stuff when it comes to PM's - thanks for the link!

Re: Hi Everybody!
I'm sorry to resurrect this old thread, but am wondering if anyone has updated info to add, re: traps for metal PM housing/ the PMCA DUST (Deluxe Universal Sparrow Trap). We just put up 2 Waters Edge (4 story 8 compartments each) houses on a Multipurpose Pole, crescent entrances. Any recent experien...

Re: Enlarge rooms in old Trio?
SueK, Since this was posted in 2017 I have not had any problems with stuck birds in the inside holes. Iused a 2 inch knockout punch. I punched two holes side by side making approximately a 2 x 31/2 inch egg shape hole in each inner wall. It's very easy to do. You might know somebody that has one. I...

Re: Enlarge rooms in old Trio?
You can start the hole with a smaller drill bit to help guide the hole saw and get it started. You will need to put some pressure on it for the 3" saw to cut through the metal. If you have the house apart, put it on top of a piece of would to support it as you drill through. Finally finished- ...

Re: Enlarge rooms in old Trio?
Hello, am a new Trio Castle owner, converting to 3 compartment per floor as compared to 6... bought the 3" hole saw w/ a 1/4" pilot drill bit to keep it centered. Except I can't get it started, it's just skating on the metal instead of digging in. Tried to make a divot w/ a sharp nail, to ...
