Re: The electronic / computer spreadsheet to trac nest checks
I used it last year and submitted my nest information. I cant seem to find it and by the responses I have received either folks did not like it or it has been removed.

Opinion
OK all of you long timer landlords. I have a potential new landlord in my area seeking an opinion on locating a PM pole near his house, As you will see he lives in the mountains about 1700 feet up. The pole when looking at the picture will be left side of the house on a flat area 15 feet from the ga...

Re: Site Assessment
Yes I did this but I also recall someone doing a GPS map or Google Map back then circling trees that should be removed. I did remove the trees and Wow I now have three poles all gourds...48 . Thanks for finding this picture.

Re: Site Assessment
No there was a group that looked at the site via google map and made recommendations. I have been on his site but this location is about 1700 feet up. He lives on a small mountain. I may have to contact the PM Association.

Site Assessment
About four years ago In trying to setup my Martin Houses I had someone do a geo assessment on my property. I forgot how I requested this. I have a new PM landlord wanting advice of where to locate some housing in the Mountains. Does anyone recall who you contact?

Hawks
So Last year with the increase in Martins there was an increase in Hawk attacks. So if i place a owl decoy about 20 feet away from gourds..will this scare off the Martins? Trees are about 40-60 feet away (one large one)

Re: Worm Wheel winch update
I found out you should not use a impact drill (which I was) Just a standard drill not impact drill. Makes the difference in the sound very smooth.

Worm Wheel winch
I purchased a worm wheel winch this year for my 18 gourd pole. Was wondering if anyone else had experience with this type of winch. When I raise it up using a cordless drill it makes a loud chatter but bringing the gourds down is very smooth & silent.

Re: Using perch arms for snake netting
What i do is use a tomato plant funnel or sometimes referred to as towers. . I cut it open on one side (adjust to height you need) then zip tie it at the bottom of the pole. Then stuff it with bird netting. Thus far landlord three snakes 0. They can't move an inch
