got my first pair this year after 3 years of lookers.

only one pair so far. I am located near Seymour, WI. Now just hope they raise healthy babies and I should be on my way.

my dad has been doing good with the Northstar. we each have one--- i think that and gourds is the way to go. that is what i have up.

but my dad in crivtiz is having his best year ever. he should have 30 babies make it

i have not heard her/him sing because i have been playing my chatter cd.

he/she was here for over an hour this morning.

saw my first martin--he has been here for about 10 minutes every day since 5-24 he comes at 10am. just a looker i guess.

although there have been ASY deaths in the area from the cold and snow earlier in April. 6 dead near Pestigo, WI.--probably more than that--that is just what we know of.

i hate to say this --but i do not like your setup. If you are serious about this. i would get the plans and build a Northstar wood house. also get some gourds and hang the gourds under the Northstar. Gourds worked best for me in South Dakota and I had 17 pair. little story about up around Seymour, w...

my advice would be to feed them.

here in wisconsin last week--my dad checked on the nieghbors martins after 2 days of cold rain--there were 6 dead martins in one of the gourds.

well i had 2 martins here yesterday--the sy male brought in a sy female but she did not stick around.

today the sy male has been here.---6/1/10

no luck for me so far---i had a sy male here yesterday.

not looking good for me.

i have the northstar house--with gourds in a wide open area with ponds around.

how are people doing in Wisconsin?

i have had a sy male here 4 days--but does not stay--my uncle 7 miles nw of me--might have a pair?

kick the swallows out--there are a lot of them.

it will be a miracle if you get martins this year.

put it like this my dad has been trying for 25 to 30 years and had one pair a few years ago in wisconsin--hawks got the mother.

no luck for me this year near appleton.

i would build the northstar wood house and hang 4 gourds underneath it. also this is why nest checks are a must. some sevin dust and a wood house with gourds--i raised the most babies. incidently the chances of those martins coming back are not good when all the young die. most will take up somewher...
