Same thing here. One pair last year that saw... four eggs laid, hatched and fledged. Saw some (ASY's) early in the year but basically nothing since then. Had some construction behind but don't know if this was a bad thing. One thing I do know, the sparrow population is down. I guess we just hang in ...

Natureline Gourd Question

My Naturlines have no access doors on the side. Has anybody tried to install the access doors they use on natural gourds? Will it even work?

It does look like the passing birds are curious about the babies.

Is it as Conspiracy?

I have one nesting pair whose babies should fledge within 2-8 days. There has been increased birds at my site I would imagine this is due to migrating birds. Here's my question. Do these migrating birds help the mom and dad defend the nest site? Instead of mom and dad dive bombing me now these extra...

I use this trap for Cedar Suite and my bb boxes. Works awesome! The only good sparrow is a gone sparrow. Good Luck.

Kamikaze Martins

Ok I'll admit I am new at this but when the martins first arrived I could go and do anything close to the housing. Now that there are eggs and now babies I can't get within twenty yards of the housing without the male, female and another adult male buzzing me. I only have one nesting couple. What do...

Diverdan, Have the same scenario here. Had a pair of tree swallows that deposited their kids droppings in my pool. Had to move their gourd to new location as to change their flight pattern. She is quite irate and is more aggressive than the male pm that takes a run at me too. I guess I'll try a hat ...

I'm A landlord.

After 8 years, a lot of trapping, shooting of the nasty birds and the death of a willow tree I can finally say I'm a landlord. Abner and Alice as I have named them, have produced their first egg. Hard work, perseverance, and sound advice from the forum does pay off.

Conley Entrances

I have the Troyer gourds with the Conley entrances and the martins don't quite seem to get through. Or are they just apprehensive about going through? Should I open the entrances a tad?

Chasing or playing martins?

I have an adult pm (around about 12 days now) it seems when a sub-adult male comes around the adult he chases him from entrance hole to entrance hole. Is this normal?
