Re: Help - Dead ASY Male in Cavity - Move babies?

Cindy, I put about 50 thawed crickets in a shallow dish in the nest cavity on Sunday night. I did a nest check last night (Wednesday) and all of the crickets were gone and all 5 babies looked fat and happy. The mother was coming and going feeding the babies so I don't plan on moving them or providin...

Re: Help - Dead ASY Male in Cavity - Move babies?

Thanks Cindy. I have some crickets in the freezer that I can thaw and put in the nest box. I'll hold off on moving a chick or two for a few days and see how it goes. Bob.

Re: Help - Dead ASY Male in Cavity - Move babies?

Thanks Toy. I was thinking that would be my approach. However, I have been watching the female for the last half an hour and she is a feeding machine. She never stops for a second. I think I'm going to give her a few days and see how things progress.

Re: This cold / wet snap isn't helping any

AkitaSan, my colony is located in SouthCentral MI (near Jackson) and would like to talk to you about your supplemental feeding procedures. I had 9 pairs last year and I'm concerned about a cold/wet April. I don't live at the site (it's at my cottage) and I would like to talk strategy with you if you...

Lonestar Alamo Perching Rods

I have a Lone Star Alamo and am interested in whether anyone has added perching rods to the top of the pole. I would like to add an attachment with several perching rods on it to the "cap" located at the top of the pole that meets the house when it is raised. The "cap" is a thin ...
